Meet Our Trustees
Chair
Sheri Johnson
Sheri began volunteering with RDA “to see what it was like” in 2009. Sheri enjoyed it so much she became a coach, then trustee in 2016 and is now Chair. In her spare time Sheri enjoys competing on her horses in both dressage and jumping.
Treasurer
Ruth Blowers
Ruth loves spending most of her time with her grown up daughter, their two horses, three ponies and walking their dogs. She is our wonderful bookkeeper and runs two fundraising events a year.
Secretary
Rebecca Macefield
Rebecca has been a volunteer with HBL RDA since March 2019, becoming a trustee in December 2021.
As one of our group team leaders, Rebecca relishes the opportunity to see our young riders build a bond with our ponies and seeing the excitement they express when they accomplish something new.
Fundraising Trustee
Joanna Marsh
Jo has had a passion for RDA for over 25 years, since her first days of volunteering. As a fundraising trustee Jo is responsible for generating revenues to cover the RDA group expenditure. When she has time, Jo loves competing on her lovely Welsh Cob, Achilles.
Trustee & Coach
Barry Tregaskis
Barry has always loved horses, happily hacking around until he was drawn into RDA, now it is pretty much Barry’s full-time job (it’s just as well he’s retired!). Barry is a session coach and also has responsibility for looking after our ponies schedule and welfare.
Pony & Sharer Trustee
Fiona McGann
Fiona is a familiar face with our hugely successful sharer programme. She works with all of our sharers to ensure the ponies have a diverse schedule, well suited sharers and supports the ponies overall wellbeing. Our sharer programme is intrinsic not only for our ponies mental & physical wellbeing, but also as a source of fundraising for our charity. Fiona is often seen at Badgers Farm meeting new sharers and checking in our existing riders progress.
Safeguarding Officer
Ang Scott
Ang has volunteered with three different RDA groups over the last 40 years. She has numerous happy memories of riding sessions during this time, feeling honoured to become a trustee of Horsley, Bookham and Leatherhead group in June 2021.
Equine Behaviour & Handling Trustee
Jonathan Cook
Jonathan is a qualified riding instructor for over 40 years. During his extensive career he has gained valuable experience dealing with all types of horses, ponies and owners! He is responsible for Equine Behavior & Handling. Our horses and their good behavior is the cornerstone of our success.
Volunteer Trustee
Christine Reynolds
Christine has been a volunteer with HBL RDA for a few years now and a familiar face in our riding sessions. She is the group leader for Thursdays & Fridays and has been involved in many of our riding and fundraising events. She recently joined to help us manage and co-ordindate our growing number of volunteers. Christines passion, enthusiasm and organisation is a welcome addition to our team of trustees.
